I Love Liverpool FC Blog Part 1. #YNWA

The beginning of my love affair with Liverpool Football Club

The first game I attended was back in the early 1980’. I cant remember the exact year but we lost to Birmingham 3-2. We were 3-0 down at one point but goauls from Ray Kennedy and Kenny Dalglish gave us hope. Unfortunately, it was not enough.

Of course, from then on after standing in the old Kop I was hooked.

A little Liverpool FC History

Liverpool F.C. were created after a dispute between their committee and the Everton committee. At the time John Houlding was Everton Club President club and owned the land at Anfield. After 8 years of wrangling about the stadium, Everton eventually moved to Goodison Park in 1892. At the time Houlding founded Liverpool F.C. to play at Anfield. Liverpool were originally named "Everton F.C. and Athletic Grounds Ltd" (Everton Athletic for short), the club became Liverpool F.C. During 1892 they gained official recognition from the FA. Liverpool then went on to win the Lancashire league in its debut season, and subsequently joined the 2nd tier of English football at the beginning of the 1893–94 season. Liverpool placed first and our club was promoted to the First division. They went on to victory in both 1901 and in 1906.

More facts in my next blog but for now here are some photos (including one of my 50th Birthday present, the one in the frame) and two from my last game last year again Porto in the Champions League. After win 5-0 away at Porto it was a bit like a training game but still fun as ever.
